Johannes Hoff

Knight of Thur, Adjutant to the Order of the Lion, wielder of Garrensfel. Defender of Thur, Her interests and Wards.

Baron Johannes Hoff is a nobleman with lineage placing him in line to the throne. An act of the Gods or man would have to intervene for this to occur, but should something happen to the King he could claim the throne for himself.

He is fiercely loyal to the Crown and should his King issue an order, regardless of its legitimacy on legal or moral grounds, it will be obeyed without question, such is his oath and duty. His feelings about the King in private circles are known; His Royal Highness is bereft of common sense and lacks the leadership required to keep Thur elevated in esteem within the Border Kingdoms.

Johannes stands a shade above six feet tall and is fairly lean. His armour is clean in style, lacking the pomp and circumstance of the ceremonial pieces other nobles in the land often adorn themselves with. As a renowned tournament fighter he is known in Thur and competing states as a fearsome foe in the joust and sword and shield arena.

He is a handsome man of tanned skin fair hair and blue eyes that amplify his smile. He is also charismatic and charming when called for and can dance with some skill. That said, when in service to the crown outside of court he is prone to drop morays and protocol, preferring to be called by name than title whenever possible, only using his status when he knows it will be beneficial to the mission.



Order of the Lion

The cavalier must protect the life and lands of his sovereign at all costs. He must obey the commands of his sovereign without question. He must strive to expand the power and prestige of his realm.

Tactician - Shield Wall Adjacent allies share basic shield bonuses +1 for bucklers and small shields, +2 for heavy and tower shields.

2 - Order Ability - Lion's Call - Allies within 60' gain a +1 competence AB for 6 rounds. Frightened and Panicked allies can re-roll save.

3 - 2nd Feat - Power Attack -5 AB +10 DMG
Cavalier's Charge +4 AB on a charge - no AC penalty

4 - 1st ability point - Strength
Challenge 2x day
Expert Trainer +7 to Handle Animal checks on Mount.

5 - 3rd Feat - Trample - When you attempt to overrun an opponent while mounted, your target may not choose to avoid you. Your mount may make one hoof attack against any target you knock down, gaining the standard +4 bonus on attack rolls against prone targets.
Banner Allies: Morale Bonus +4 vs Fear +3 AB on a charge

6 - Cavalier bonus feat - Mounted Combat Make a Ride check to negate attack on Mount.

7 - 4th Feat - Lunge +5' reach -2 AC following round.
Challenge 3x day

8 - 2nd ability point - Strength
For the King - Allies within 30' gain +6 competence AB and +6 Damage for one round. - 1x per combat.

9 - 5th Feat - Improved Initiative +4 to initiative.
Greater Tactician
Escape Route Allies provoke no AoO when moving through personal adjacent spaces.

10 - Challenge 4x day

11 - 6th feat - Improved Critical - Lance Double threat range on weapon.
Mighty Charge Double threat range on weapon during a charge (3x Lance). Free Special attack if successful with no AoO.

12 - 3rd ability point - Strength
Cavalier bonus feat - Ride By Attack can continue moving in a straight line after a charge.
Demanding Challenge

13 - 7th feat - Spirited Charge Double damage on a charge
Challenge 5x day -Add cavalier's level in damage each attack - +4 dodge AC vs challenged foe. -2 AC vs other foes during challenge(Order of Lion)

14 - Greater Banner Allies: Morale Bonus: +2 vs Charm and Compulsion

15 - 8th Feat - Improved Overrun
Shield of the Liege - Adjacent allies receive +2 Shield AC bonus. Cavalier can redirect 1 attack per round on adjacent ally onto himself - cavalier loses any cover bonuses.

16 - 4th ability point - Strength
Challenge 6x day

17 - 9th feat - Charge Through - When making a charge, you can attempt to overrun one creature in the path of the charge as a free action.
Master Tactitian - May now share two teamwork feats in combat.
Coordinated Charge When an ally with this feat charges a creature that is no further away from you than your speed, you can, as an immediate action, charge that creature.
